The Doctrine of TRINITY is Not in the BIBLE

What is Trinity?

Trinity is not a word that found in the Holy Bible but concept of Trinity, runs right from the book of Genesis to that Revelation. The Bible, the Book of God, clearly speaks of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, at same time emphasizing there is only one God.

Thus the term: “Tri” meaning three, and unity meaning one, Tri + unit = Trinity. We use the word Trinity to acknowledge what the Bible reveals to us about God, that there is only one God, yet with three persons who have the same or equal essence of deity.

“These Three are One” God the Son (Jesus) is fully and completely God. And God the Holy Spirit is fully and completely God. Let me give you a few scriptures here. “I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides me there is no God.” (Isa. 45:5) There is no God but One (1cor.8:4) But the same Bible declares: “There are three the bear record witness in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost:and THREE ARE ONE. (1.john5:7). When our Lord gave the great commission He commanded, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name (Notice, Not names) of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit” (Mt.28:19). Again, when Apostle Paul gave the general benediction to the church at Corinth at the very end of his second epistle, he wrote, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, is be with you all Amen”. (11.cor.13:14).

Right From the Beginning In Genesis 1:26 states. “Then God (Note, only one God) said, “Let US (talks of more than one Person) make man in OUR (not my) image, in OUR likeness----“. Again in Gen.11:6-7) we read, “the Lord said,”------Come, let Us go down and confuse their language-----.”

Trinity in the Baptism of our Lord. Luke gives us a graphical description of the baptism of Jesus. When Jesus (the Second Person of Trinity) was praying soon after His water baptism (Lk.3:21) the Bible says, “The heaven was opened and Holy Spirit (the Third Person Trinity) descended on Him in bodily shape like a dove upon Him.”(Vs.22). Then, “Voice came from heaven which said, “thou art my beloved SON (that was the voice of His Father): in thee. I am well pleased.”(Vs22) Thus we see a beautiful picture of the Triune God, each one playing an important role as we carefully read through the event of our Lord taking baptism in the waters of river Jordan.

The Bible Proclaim that Jesus Is God. The so called Jehovah’s Witnesses go door to door to different countries of the world saying that Jesus is not the creator God but just a creature. But the holy Bible tells us beyond as shadow of doubt that He is God Himself. (1) In John1:1 we read, “In the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Then in verse 14 we read,” And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” Here, the Word that was God and was made flesh is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible reconfirms this in 1Tim.3:16 saying, “without controversy great is the mystery of godliness. GOD WAS MENIFEST IN THE FLESH ---- believed on in the world, RECEIVED UP INTO GLORY.” This cannot be any one else but our Lord Jesus Christ.

(2) Again in Phip.2:11, Paul write, “Christ Jesus: Who being In the form of God, though it not robbery TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD, made Himself of no reputation and  took upon Him the form of a servant and was made in the likeliness of men---He humble Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross -----“ these verse clearly state that Jesus was equal with God but did not take advantage of His position, instead humbled Himself and become a man and died on the cross. Which student or scholar of the Bible could deny that Jesus is God? Apostle Paul on to proclaim Jesus, “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven---earth---under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord---. (Vs. 10&11) if Jesus is not God why on earth should every knee bow at the name of Jesus and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord?

(3) In Mt28:9 we read His followers”came and HELD HIM BY THE FEET, and WORSHIPPED Him.” In response to this Jesus did not rebuke them but spoke some words of encouragement to them. In Jn.20:28 we read Thomas after resurrection of Jesus confessed to Him “My Lord and MY God.”

(4) When Stephen the first martyr of the Christian church was stoned to death he called upon God saying, Lord Jesus. “And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, LORD JESUS, received my spirit.(Acts 7:59).

Revelation Too Reveals that Jesus is God. Rev.1:8 declares, “I (Jesus) am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and ending, saith the Lord Which is, and Which was ,and Which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY.(Here, the one who calls Himself as Alpha and Omega is the Lord, for he is Lord who is to come. The previous verse also confirms that.(Vs.7) Again in Vs17&18, Jesus Himself confirms the same truth saying.” I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST, I---was dead; behold I am alive for ever more.” Notice, the one who died and rose again (Jesus) claims to be the first and the last and in Isaiah 44:6, Jehovah God says, “I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST; and beside me there is no God.”

The Holy Spirit is God. In Acts chapter 5 we read of one Ananias and his wife Sapphira. They both sold their possession and keep back a part of the price and laid THE OTHER part at the feet of Apostle Peter and lied saying that it was the full price of the sale. Then Apostle Peter rebuked him saying, “Why has satan filled thine heart to LIE TO THE HOLY GHOST, and keep part of the price of the land.”(v.3). Then verse 4 of the same chapter we read Peter telling Annias, “Thou has not lied unto me, But UNTO GOD.” Thus the Bible implies in clear terms that lying to the Holy Spirit is lying to God and that Holy Spirit is God Himself. May Good God Bless You all !!!
