The Gluttones have officially come back in the music scene with the release of new single ‘Dance Through The Night.’ The band released their comeback debut with a new lineup on Thursday.

The band was formed in 2016 but went on a hiatus after a short period of success. The Gluttones are a 5 man band consisting of Meyisanen Lemtur on the vocals, Akinto Ayemi and Imnok Sair on the Guitars, Mulong Longkumer on the bass guitar and Katovi Yepthomi on the drums.

Talking to The Morung Express on the new song, the band said that ‘Dance Through the Night’ is about “women and the norms that society has placed upon them. The song is based from a man's perspective of trying to understand the things that go on in a woman's mind.”

“Many things have inspired us to come back,” the band said. “For instance, good chemistry, same interest in music, equal drive for pursuit of excellence, love for modern music, healthy relationship, our creative nature etc but the most important of them all is the dedication of our drummer, Katovi Yepthomi, the founder of the band. He is the sole reason we gathered together as a band and started working on new music. He is the backbone of the band. The Gluttones wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for his perseverance and never giving up attitude. We owe him big time,” the band members acknowledged.

Disclosing few details on the creative process of the new song, the band admits, “Well, to be honest, the song started off without much thought into it. The melodies and the basics were made on a whim which was later broken down and polished little by little once we found out that it was actually sounding good.”

They adds, “Tongz Kichu, the music producer, played a very big role in the production as he elevated the song to the next level, something beyond our expectations.”

“Overall it was a very fun experience as it was the first time for us venturing into a new genre considering the fact that all of us come from different musical backgrounds. It also taught us to appreciate our individual talents more as well as treasure the chemistry between us,” they said.

The band is “definitely” back for good with “big plans for the future.”

“We are currently working on new songs and aiming to do some major stuff ahead in the future. Of course, given the fact that all goes according to plan. We are just thankful to God for making this come true again and very happy to be present at the moment and do things little by little,” The Gluttones added.
