The history & purpose of Nagamese Baptist Churches Association

The Genesis of NBCA

The Nagamese Baptist Churches Association came into being in 2008, and got affiliated to NBCC in 2011 during the 74th NBCC Annual Council held from February 4-6, 2011 at Rotomi Baptist Church, as one of the Associate members. The NBCC, after much consultations and prayers took decision to give affiliation to NBCA as one of the constituent members with view to develop their leadership and motivate the new planted Churches to become strong and vibrant in their mission and witnessing for Christ.

The NBCA unlike other Associations is very unique in its composition character. It is an enter-tribal, enter-community and enter-ethnic church body, drawing members from more than 28 different linguistic and peoples’ group where the Nagamese dialect is playing a very crucial role in unifying these people of different identity into one greater family of God through Jesus Christ. What a realization it is!

The handing over of the Office of the Executive Secretary was held on April 19, 2011 in the presence of the few officials of the Association, followed by the Installation of two Officers for the NBCA was held on May 8, 2011 at Nagamese Baptist Church, Burma Camp where Rev. Dr. Chen Rengma, as Executive Secretary and Rev. R. Meren Jamir as President which was officiated by Rev. Dr. L. Anjo Keikung, General Secretary, NBCC.

Mission Strategy of NBCA

The NBCA is the youngest amongst the Associations under NBCC and is still at the nascent stage and yet, it is prayerfully resolved to carry out all its activities for fulfilling the God’s given mission as a mandate to the Churches in the world.  The purpose of setting up the NBCA is to take up a special and unique ministry among the marginalized group of non-Christian who are yet receive the Gospel of Christ. The NBCA has a vision to become a mission oriented agency by giving prominent emphasize on soul winning activities for the NBCA was born out of great concern and prayer to reach out to the people who are like sheep without shepherd in a Christian dominated land like Nagaland.
