The need for an incarnational Government: Performance as basis for next Election

Nagaland longs for an Incarnational Government

The need is not a party government, nay, NPF-led or Congress or any other party led government. But a credible and trustworthy governance with principle of honesty and justice that would understand the pains of the people, and touch down the basic needs such as human values, road condition, electricity, water, and quality education being a Government Of the People By the people and For the people.

Our land laments over famine of ‘Truth.’ Christians are the people of the truth because we believe what the Bible tells us. But money and power struggle have become the truth today in our land. Are we aware of our immediate future? Everything is gone when character is gone. And character is assassinated by corruption. Let us not wait for the next and next government to meet our basic needs or for a transformation. The Church is for vertical concern while a government is for horizontal excellence. These two institutions are mutually interdependent. God ordained a government to be responsible for human elevation. The welfare of the public is the main purpose of any good governance.

Welcoming the new government with congratulations, the public sincerely believe our government will now deliver the stuffs to the people, and render the utmost service to the electorates as a borrowed time from God and people. By the turn of 2019, Nagaland expects to see a significant transformation in the area of:

1. Anti-Corruption Bill of Nagaland.

The Church and schools impart and teach human values and civic behaviors but cannot enact and regulate them in the absence of police or implementing functionaries. The NBCC with Associations and churches rendered such a commendable and measurable effort towards Nagaland Clean Election which is much appreciated as Christian public. However, sadly, money for votes and malpractices are deplorable in some of our polling stations. Taking percentage of its success, such Clean Election drive should continue to excel ensuing elections.

Viewing and closely watching the scenario of Nagaland, it becomes now an imperative necessity that Nagaland pass Anti-Corruption Bill to ensure the spirit of true democracy, and protect birthright of electing trustworthy leaders to manage public affairs. Therefore, we hope, this urgency would move our government to make a timely legislation and enactment thereof.

2. Roads and Flyovers in key cosmopolitan cities like Kohima and Dimapur?

Bustling and hassling pedestrians have no safety and security in the midst of swarming cars and motorcades in deplorable road conditions coupled with unhealthy sanitarian environment. Public longs for a new chapter since we now live in a modern world.

3. A major project for mega Water Reservoir for State Capital Kohima and growing mini-international city Dimapur?

How long will our state capital suffer of acute water scarcity? The government is responsible to provide safe drinking water to its citizens as an essential human need. If our government fails to undertake challenge, whom shall we look to and where shall we go for solution?

4. Solution to Irregular power supply?

Enough is enough. What a great loss, power failure is causing to our societies in the areas of preservation, surgeries, academic education, domestic operation, even security issue, micro-enterprising sectors, writings and communications! Can we expect a change as it is scientific age?

Nagaland can make a forward movement if we can overcome ‘blaming each other.’ The public blames the leaders with corruption allegation whereas the leaders charge the public as the root cause of corruption. It is a collective responsibility. It requires both public cooperation and ingrained discipline of our elected leaders. We expect our elected leaders to sit, concentrate and pin on public welfares. This will happen only if our pubic can set them free from swarming beelines. Let us celebrate the arrival of the new government with thanksgiving but with much prayer for competence and success of our elected leaders.

God bless Nagaland!
