A get-together of Thevoma Union Rüsoma (TUR) took place today at Rüzazou, Rüsoma under Kohima District.
Several members of the Union turned up and stood in unison to strengthen unity and cordial relationship among themselves for all round development.
After the formal programme, the members undertook a mass social work along the newly constructed road for village extension purpose towards Rüzazou.
The social work commenced with a formal declaration made by TUR chairman Neisa Zuyie and prayer by Rev Kiezotuo Zhale.
GB Kruzolie Zhale said that the idea behind the social work along the newly constructed road is to develop a sense of ownership and also to promote work culture among the youngsters.
Both old and young joined the social work.
Stating that road network is paramount to facilitate any developmental activities, he said the Union initiated road construction as the prime step to serve its endeavor well.
The members came in traditional attires to depict the unique and colorful traditional dresses and conveyed strong message on the need to propagate and preserve the rich cultural heritage.
Presently, there are about 1300 members spreading over 240 families under Thevoma Union, said Zhale. The programme concluded with a grand community feast.
