Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): The three range units of the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) in Kohima district – Northern Angami Youth Organisation, Southern Angami Youth Organisation and Western Angami Youth Organisation – today strongly repudiated the claim of NPF Kohima division that the division would “no longer participate in any activities of the APO and AYO.”
In a joint statement, the three AYO range units categorically stated, “The NPF Kohima division has neither been part of our activities at any point of time nor is it welcome to any of our activities.”
While acknowledging the cooperation of intending candidates – both independents as well as those with tickets of political parties – for abstaining from filing their nomination to the ULB elections, it said that the candidates undertook decision on their own individual’s wisdom.
“We would like to remind the NPF Kohima division that this was made possible because of the wisdom of the individual intending candidates and not the NPF.”
The NPF, it stated, “does not even seem to remember that it was the NPF led government that even extended the dates for filing of nominations.”
The range units further reminded the executive members of NPF Kohima division that the tribe is above all political parties.
“Irrespective of our political inclinations we stand united as a tribe and no person in any political party should attempt to malign the honour of the tribe by making politically motivated statements just to please their political masters.”
Meanwhile, NAYO, SAYO and WAYO maintained they were “disgusted” by the attempts of some “politically motivated puppets” in the NPF Kohima Division to please their “despotic masters” in any manners.
In this connection, the three organisations asked the President and executive members of the NPF Kohima division to meet AYO and its range officials anytime at AYO Office and “substantiate their claim” that APO or AYO have been “politically motivated or stop issuing baseless statements.”
The joint statement was issued by NAYO President Neizolie Rüpreo, SAYO President Neisizo Kuotsu and WAYO President Neidilhoutuo Sechü.
