Kohima, July 24 (MExN): The Kohima Deputy Commissioner, Gregory Thejawelie has demarcated areas in Lower Chandmari, Upper PR Hill and Lower Forest Colony, as ‘Sealed Area’ following the detection of COVID-19 positive cases from persons residing in the localities.
Stating that the areas have been sealed to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing, the DC in an order dated July 23 said that all movement of person/vehicles within the defined sealed area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with immediate effect.

• West : Footpath near Gorkha Public Panchayat
• South : Main road neat Govt. Press
• North : Circular Road (footpath)
Upper PR Hill (Ward No. 19)

Jotsoma containment zone lifted
Meanwhile, the DC lifted the containment zone at Jotsoma village on completion of contact tracing and COVID-19 testing of all primary and secondary contacts. The DC informed that 20 households were visited out of which 5 high risk and 3 low risk contacts were traced.
Stating that results of all the identified contacts were negative, the DC lifted the containment zone/sealed area at Jotsoma village and allowed for normal activities to resume with adherence to existing SOPs.
FAC’s Cool Creek QC declared containment zone
Following the confirmation of a COVID-19 positive case amongst returnees lodged in the Cool Creek Quarantine Centre at Fazl Ali College Campus, Mokokchung, DC Limawabang Jamir has declared the quarantine centre as a containment zone as defined in the government’s standard operating procedure.
