Temsuchuba, SDO (C) Mokokchung flagged off the Spearhead Motorsport Initiative (SMI) Throttle Thrust VI at Mangmetong village, Mokokchung on November 1.
Temsuchuba before flagging off the race said that Motorsport is not just about speed and horsepower but a testament to human skills and ability. He congratulated Spearhead Motorsport Initiative for successfully completing 10 years and bringing drivers together for a decade. He thanked the pioneers of SMI for their commitment and passion in keeping the wheel moving for a decade. He also acknowledged SMI for their contribution towards the community stating that the club recently installed flexible traffic poles across Mokokchung town. He encouraged the club to continue such noble acts for the society.
On the first day of the event, Stage I of the race was played in tarmac road surface with 56 drivers participating in three different categories which included Open Category, Below 1300 cc and SUV category. Participants from Meghalaya, Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung are participating in the event. Stage II of the event will be played on dirt and gravel track and the winners of the event will be judged according to their Stage I & II cumulative timings.
SMI is celebrating their 10 year anniversary and this year’s edition of Throttle Thrust VI is in commemoration of the anniversary.
