Phek, December 29 (MExN): The Thüvopisümi Students’ Union (TSU) held its 71st General Session-cum-Literary and Cultural Fest at Thiivopisü village in Phek district on December 27 and 28 under the theme “Rhoyi de Müswöyi” (Honour and Preserve).
Gracing the inaugural session, Nutavoyi Rhakho, Post Graduate Teacher, Government Higher Secondary School, Chozuba, urged the students to keep spiritually strong to progress in academic life. He also urged the students to abstain from internet and social media addictions.
Extending greetings, Wenizo Mero, Assembly Speaker, Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), challenged the students to live with integrity and values which is vital for the growth of the community.
Civovelu Rhakho, president (TSU) delivered presidential address.
The session was chaired by Seyiekhreii Venyo, Information Secretary, Kohima Chakhesang Students’ Union.
‘Promote unique cultural identity’
Pusazo Venyo, Retd Senior Artist cum Designer, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland graced the Cultural Day on December 28.
He stressed on the importance of preserving and promoting one’s unique cultural identity and practices.
Avezo Kevin Kapu, president, Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) highlighted on the needs among the younger generation to create a sustainable community
Veze Tunyi, president, Kohima Chakhesang Students’ Union (KCSU) stressed on the importance of maintaining unity among the community and to work together for a greater cause.
It was chaired by Zachisato, PGT, GHSS Thangjam, Tuensang.
Rüzakü colony emerged the overall champion title in cultural competition while Nasa colony stood runner-up.
Tuzu, Rüso and Rükho colony have also been accorded with consolation prize.
Wooden cart race, Bamboo stilt walk, traditional fire making, top spinning, Dice throw and cotton spinning also marked the cultural day.
