Time to pull up socks: DPRO Dimapur tells staff

Dimapur, April 11 (MExN): A coordination meeting between the staff of the District Public Relations Officer of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland was held at the Dimapur DPRO Office on Monday.

On the occasion, Dimapur DPRO Lolano Patton impressed upon the staff to pull up their socks and render their best services for the welfare of the people, a DIPR report stated.

Patton recollected that the office could not function in full swing over the past two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as the situation has improved and restrictions are being relaxed, she encouraged the staff to take on their assigned duties sincerely.

Stating that the news section in Dimapur is one of the busiest in Nagaland, Patton reminded the staff that many other IPR staff vie to be posted at Dimapur. “So if you cannot render your services at Dimapur when required, give chance to the other active news staff who are willing to come in Dimapur,” she added. With Niuland and Chümoukedima being accorded district headquarters, we have to shoulder more responsibilities, she further said, while advising the staff to build stronger and better PR skills and to uplift the image of the Department.

Apart from the routine news reporting, she also encouraged to do their research by tying up with the implementing departments and writing feature stories about the different schemes and programmes of the Government in order to educate the masses so that the targeted beneficiaries are benefitted.

She cautioned that attendance would be monitored strictly and “No Work no Pay” would be implemented.

Meanwhile, the DPRO applauded the establishment section of the Dimapur office for rendering their services efficiently and for being the first department to complete the paper works for e- salary under Dimapur district.

She also expressed appreciation to the news, technical and photo section for their prompt services even during challenging times and sought for their continued cooperation and support to be the mouth piece of the Government in serving the people, the report stated.
