Dimapur, Dec 22 (MExN): When Jesus Christ came to Earth two millenniums ago, He brought with Him the message of love, peace, forgiveness and fellow-feeling but this same Christ whom the Nagas have embraced is being paid only lip service, the Naga Mothers Association laments. It is about time the people stand up and put and end to all these, the mothers reminded.
The Naga Mothers Association grieved the loss of young lives cut short by killings as being experienced in the Naga society today. The Naga Mothers Association has called for a concerted effort towards love, peace and forgiveness this Christmas rather than being gripped by fear as always.
“We have let tears and bloodshed rule our lives for much too long, rapes, murders and killings have become too common; as mothers it grieves us especially to see the lives of so many of our sons and daughters cut short by killings and murders and we feel that it is high time that we shall stand up to put an end to these and for what we all know is right not only as Christians but as civilized and sensible human beings” NMA through its President Khesheli, stated.
“When Christ came to this Earth two millenniums ago, He brought with Him the message of love, peace, forgiveness and fellow-feeling. This is the same Christ whom we Nagas have embraced as our Lord. But sadly, we seem to be paying only lip service to Him and all that He stood for – love, peace, forgiveness and fellow-feeling are seemingly the last things on our minds,” the NMA lamented. Nevertheless, it is not too late as the people celebrate another Christmas, it stated while appealing to all for the needful feelings
“Let us all make a concerted effort to share love and peace and to forgive this Christmas and as we prepare for the new year ahead of us, let us not be gripped by fear as we have always been but be emboldened by the hope that it will be a year of peace and rejoicing” the NMA added.
