Dept of Power expresses regret
Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Department of Power, Nagaland today expressed regret to the consumers for their inability to timely deliver electricity bills for the past few months. Department of Power, Chief Engineer (D&R) G. Chishi in a press release said that this situation has arisen due to the adoption of a new billing system (SAP).
He said that a smooth transition from the old system to the new system, as envisaged, has not been possible, despite the best efforts of all concerned. Hence, the delivery of bills has been affected. The recent ban on Government offices has further prevented rectification in the system for about a month, he added.
The Chief Engineer also said that though the process to enable timely bill delivery is underway and consumers will receive electricity charges for a few months in a single bill. Consumers are requested to bear with the inconvenience caused.
