DIMAPUR, JUNE 26 (MExN): The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) in the wake of road accidents and non maintenance of traffic rules compounded by rash driving most of who do not have a valid driving license has called the attention of the responsible authorities for the effective execution of the duties of the police department in the district. Stating that the deployment of traffic police only at Gandhi Chowk is not enough to address the road traffic in Ukhrul Town, the TKS has demanded deployment of traffic police at three to four traffic points at Wine Bazaar, View Land, Phungreitang and Dungrei junction in Humbum in the most effective manner.
The TKS further taking into consideration, the uncheck influx of non-tribals in the hill districts expressed its fear that the outsiders may outnumber the Nagas in their own land if the rising figure of influx of non-tribals is not monitored right now. The TKS has urged the Naga societies in the districts to extend their support and encouragement in their effort to monitor the issue in the days to come.
