Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): The Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI) Dimapur Unit celebrated the International Nurses’ Day with the theme ‘Our Nurses, Our Future: Caring for Nurses, strengthens economies’ at Chapel Hall Medical Fellowship, District Hospital Dimapur on May 12.
The theme speaker Limasungla Aier, General Secretary TNAI Dimapur unit highlighted the challenges faced by nurses and the nurses’ agenda for sustainable workforce well-being.
This includes ensuring adequate staffing and skill mix for effective care, investing in the right resources and equipment, providing safe and decent working conditions, supporting education, professional development, and optimal scope of practice, building supportive, high-performing organizational cultures, improving access to health care and well- being supports and valuing Nurses with fair, competitive compensation.
Dr Keveduyi Theyo, Medical Superintendent exhorted on the occasion and emphasized that nurses are the backbone of healthcare. “Nursing is not merely a profession, it is a calling, a dedication to serve, comfort and heal,” Dr Theyo asserted.
Student Nurses Association (SNA) School of Nursing District Hospital Dimapur (SON. DHD) portrayed this year theme with a role play. Yarsangla N/S invoked God’s blessing while Rev. Yhunlo Thong Chaplain DHD said a special prayers for the nurses. Nurses of DHD presented a special number.
Bendangnaro Principal SON. DHD acknowledge the outgoing office bearers and executive members of TNAI Dimapur unit. Nursing sisters DHD entertained the programme with a short play. Lastly vote of thank was extended by Senlemtula Vice President TNAI Dimapur unit. The programme was chaired by Medokhole President TNAI Dimapur unit.
