Everybody wants to live and enjoy a comfortable and trouble-free life. There is an inherent longing in every individual’s heart to fulfill one’s secret desire – be it political, spiritual or material. Some live long enough to see their thoughts established but many don’t. History is replete with rise and fall of nations and there is not a single instance wherein God’s finger has not played a directive role.
“And He (God) has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being…” Acts 17:26-28
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord (Jesus Christ), and the people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Ps. 33:12
We Nagas prayed and declared to God and the world that we would dedicate this nation to Christ – the only true potentate; that we would not give away an inch of our land nor compromise on our faith. Wasn’t it for this that much blood was shed? And many lives and properties lost? How is it then that you have failed to grasp the situation? Why is it that you are still faltering?
Ever pondered seriously why even after more than 8 years of cease-fire and series of talks between the NSCN (IM) and the GoI there seems to be no honourable solution in sight? Let us not blame India or the world for the political impasse. We are to be blamed. Whether the cease-fire should be extended or rolled back is God’s prerogative. If the cease-fire is only going to give us momentary comfort and not help in any way to bring about a lasting solution, then, I, personally, would choose to vote against its extension. Who knows, this may bring us to true repentance. In the meantime I would suggest that we agonize on our knees more than organize.
O’ foolish Nagas! “Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain – if indeed it was in vain?”
