World Food Day celebrated at Kupuhe village 

Medziphema, October 17 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland in order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the  United Nation (UN) celebrated World Food Day under the theme ‘to grow, nourish, sustain together’ at Kupuhe village under Medziphema Sub-Division on October 16.

Rosemary Ezung, SDAO, Medziphema shared that 2020 World Food Day main objective is to raise awareness of areas and communities whose access to food has been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. It focused on food worker who work hard to produce healthy and sustainable food and calls for global solidarity to help the most vulnerable people recover and make food system more sustainable and shock resilient. She further urged upon the villagers to be more responsible and more involved to grow and produce more variety of food to nourish a growing population and sustain our planet earth.

Jaksungnaro, Agriculture Officer thoroughly explained on the package and practices of field pea, while Nungsangmongba, Agriculture Inspector elaborated on gram. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Ayula, AFA and followed by distribution of rabi seeds to the villagers.
