MON: The contentious Tobu issue is showing signs of being resolved. The Konyak Union has decided to call off its phase-wise agitation.

This was conveyed by Wangtin Konyak, General Secretary of the union. An advisory board meeting held between the State Government instituted Tuensang Mon Public Organization Peace Committee and the Konyak Union resulted in the agitation being called off.

The KU has revoked the phase-wise agitation program as an outcome of the positive move of the government’s sincerity and constructive pressure from the TMPO, Wangtin said.

The KU has reportedly received some documents from the State government in this regard.

While expressing its confidence on the TMPO, the KU has stated that it had been compelled to accept the five-point instruction of the Tobu Peace Mission.

Wangtin has further asked the Government and the Peace Mission to properly utilize the opportunity they had received to solve the Tobu impasse.

Concurrently, the KU has also pinned its hope on the continuance of the Government’s sincerity.
