Wokha, November 6 (MExN): The second day of Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill Festival, 2021 held at local ground, Wokha was graced by MLA, Dr Chumben Murry as the special guest. Bringing the Tokhu greeting on Saturday, Dr Murry said, “It is a day and time to wish one another in friendship, forgiveness and thanksgiving.”
Emphasizing on the global warming, Dr Murry stated that climate change have long term shifts and effect in temperature and weather patterns. “Human activities have been the main drive of climate change primarily due to the burning of fuel like coal, oil, gas and many other human made activities,” he said and called for “preservation of our rich flora and fauna and protect our forest for a better tomorrow.”
According to a DIPR report, he called upon the younger generation to follow the rich cultural traditional practices which have been passed on by the forefathers and urged them to keep alive the identity and rich traditions alive.
As everyone is going through a hard time due to the pandemic, he called upon the citizens of the district to have the feeling of protection and preventive steps by following all COVID-19 protocols for the safety of everyone. Through the festival, he urged everyone to forgive and forget the short comings.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the Lotha Hoho stated that highlighting on the Naga political transformation through the state government, Dr Murry said, “under one motto the government of Nagaland has form a United Democratic Alliance to strengthen and settled the long Indo-Naga Political issue, and for which the joint legislative forum through UDA, the Naga political talks are in the final stage of settlement.”
“Naga Political solution is a common solution,” he stated and called all sections of society to come forward and discuss the agenda as one prime objective.
The culmination of Tokhü Emong celebration programme will be held on November 7 at 8:00 am which will be graced by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs.
