•-Thonoknyu town is just 96 kms away from the district headquarter that is Tuensang, however the road condition is so horrible and there is no absence of pushing and pulling vehicle and every traveler with a vehicle is a must to carry, dao, rope and lever, while travelling. One of the saddest parts also is that when high standard vehicles are plying around all over the state citizens of Thonoknyu area are still travelling in a Tata Mobile which is the only passenger vehicle.
When we look around trucks are used for carrying animals and heavy loads in others parts but for us the condition of the road allows only this type of vehicle for to and fro. The vehicle also is in service only during dry season and when the weather is good enough and so during summer there is no option for the people but to walk till Shamator Town which is 40 kms away.
Our experience on the road, in a truck makes us feel like we are bashed up by some criminals on the way, not only the body-ache but even the prices of essential commodities are so expensive in Thonoknyu which is within the reach of the majority poor people of the area and the road condition is the major problem.
When our state has already introduced a chopper service and Hi-Tech transportations this interior part of the state even after existence of town for over 50 years citizens are still travelling like pigs and goats on a very muddy, rugged and bumpy road which never has been a concern for the responsible people.
Therefore I would like to urge the concern authority to look into the matter and also the NGOs and educated Men and Women of the area to feel about connecting ourselves with a better road communication at least for the sake of our health.
