Tovihoto to fulfill ‘developmental promises’

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): The ‘Thanksgiving service’ of the newly inducted parliamentary secretary for IT & Communication, Tech. Education, Science & Technology and Taxes, Tovihoto Ayemi, was held at his Thahekhu residence on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking at the service, Tovihoto, renewed his pledge to work for the upliftment and welfare of his constituency people and Dimapur district as a whole. First timer, Tovihoto who contested on an NPF ticket defeated Congress veteran KL Chishi from 1 Dimapur-I A/C, in the recently concluded assembly election.

Seeking cooperation from the public to fulfill his “developmental promises”, the young legislator also said that he would always seek the advice of the public for the betterment of Dimapur.

He thanked the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and the NPF president, Dr. Shurhozelie for their blessings, wisdom and concern, which have enabled him to get the opportunity to serve the people. Tovihoto further thanked NPF leaders and workers from both the Dimapur Division and the assembly constituency, supporters and well wishers for all the sacrifices and hard work in electing him to represent Dimapur –I A/C.

Special invitee and parliamentary secretary for Rural Development and REPA, CL John, in his speech congratulated Tovihoto on his new assignment as parliamentary secretary and said this was another evidence of Chief Minister Rio’s endeavour to encourage the youth in politics. John also said that Rio has equal concern for the welfare of all people, from 1 Dimapur –I A/C to 60 Pungro A/C.

Newly elected Congress candidate of 31 Akuluto A/C and former colleague of Tovihoto in the Dimapur Municipal Council, Khekaho Assumi, who also attended the thanksgiving service said that the entry of young leaders like Tovihoto in politics was a welcome change. Khekaho also congratulated Tovihoto for being given charge as a Parliamentary Secretary.

NPF Dimapur division president, Shilu Sangtam, NPF Dimapur-I A/C president, LR Anthony, and election agent of Tovihoto in the concluded election, Hokivi Chishi also spoke on the occasion.

The Pastor from the Thahekhu Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Yehevi Jimo, offered the thanksgiving prayer in the service chaired by Mughavi Chishi.
