TPO welcomes coming together of pol parties

Kohima, August 16 (MExN): The Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) in its executive council meeting held on August 14, welcomed the decision of the political parties in Nagaland to come together to jointly facilitate the Indo-Naga peace dialogue and work to expedite the long anticipated Naga solution.

The meeting also resolved to urge upon the political leaders and elected representatives of the people to work sincerely putting foremost the future good of the Naga people above individual gains and party politics.

The House agreed that the TPO stands to protect the history and identity of our people and therefore it shall stand firmly with the Naga National Flag which symbolizes the identity and proud history of the Naga people, it stated.

TPO is anguished at the plight and suffering of our Naga brothers and sisters in Eastern Nagaland (Myanmar) who are living in fear and have to leave their homes faced with military repression, it stated.

We empathize and stand in solidarity with them and shall do in our capacity to help out, according to TPO press note received here.

The TPO also urged upon all Naga individuals, organisations and government of the day to bestow magnanimity to mitigate their situation.

“They are our people and shall remain our people,” according to TPO president Timikha Koza and general secretary Vipopal Kintso.
