T.R. Zeliang calls for people’s cooperation

DIMAPUR, April 10 (MExN): Minister for planning and Coordination, Evaluation, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and parliamentary Affairs today called upon the villagers to render support and cooperation to the government for over all development and progress of the state.
Addressing the gathering during the tenth anniversary celebration cum inauguration of the Mhaikam Village Council Hall, under Peren district, T.R. Zeliang said the government needs people’s cooperation and guidance in order to expedite the developmental works that are being undertaken by the government throughout the state.
“Over all development cannot take place in one day. But we will implement one by one”, the Minister said. Asserting that the DAN government is committed to all round development of the state, T.R. Zeliang called upon the village council chairmans, GBs and VDBs to have close connection with the govt. so as to facilitate the developmental schemes and projects, especially in the rural areas.
Mhaikam village is the last village of Peren district bordering Dimapur, and was established in 1972 and was recognized by the state government in 1976. Today tenth anniversary celebration cum Council Hall inauguration was marked by cultural dances by women and youths of the village, special number by students of Government High School, Mhaikam. Several public leaders including Zeliangrong Buadi President Akhang and the pioneers of the village also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, AK Lungalang, Executive member of the steering Committee, NSCN (IM) unveiled the monolith erected in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of Mhaikam village.
