Traffic the Menace

The Word menace reminds me of a little boy who delighted in playing pranks on his unsuspecting victims. The worst of his victims was Mr. Wilson a hot headed man who was always at the receiving end at the hands of his nemesis Dennis. Whenever he hears the name of the boy he always became hysterical because of his good relation with him. The legacy of Dennis the Menace will never be forgotten because of the impact he made to the masses through his acts of playfulness. The cartoon became a hit because of Dennis’s relationship with Mr. Wilson and the interesting thing was that a sweet little boy was made popular at the expense of his hot headed neighbor Mr. Wilson.
Kids will always be like kids because of what they are but when grown up act like kids they will be laughed at for what they are. The point is this: Hard times often brings out the worst in us and our characters are usually exposed when we are faced with difficulties. This is sad but true. When w are caught in a traffic jam, the sin of anger starts controlling us from within and causes us to sin. The Word of life states “ A wise man fears the Lord and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless. A quick tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated (Proverbs 14:16-17). The very reason we keep cursing the traffic jam is because we do not fear the Lord. Many believers boast of what they are in Christ but only few are what they claim to be. Humans are always discontented with what they have and they are never satisfied with what they get. This sin of ungratefulness will ultimately destroy us if we do not let go of it. It is indeed a luxury to own a car and even if we do not have one its still a blessing even to travel by buses. The dead will never have the liberty to do what we do. God has gifted us the liberty to drive, to travel and a chance for us to be reconciled with Him. But inspite of the good done to us, we start cursing God and men alike.
The traffic woes are man created and we are responsible for all the chaos of the present. However if the traffic causes us to sin we should stop travelling. To stop travelling would mean that we have to isolate ourselves from the world and its desires. It will be better for us to enter heaven because of the absence of the traffic than to be cursed into hell because of the nuisance of the traffic. Life in hell will be hard and its worms will not die and neither will the sinners (Mark 9: 42-49) . In a traffic jam our engine gets heated up and our heads also gets heated up because of the pressure. It will be sad if anyone ends up in hell because of it.
The words traffic jam will always echo in your mind as long as you live and even after you die. The Word of Life clearly states “For by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned (Matthew 12:37). Whatever is written here is biblical and the blessings of it can be ours only if we obey it. Let not the traffic cause you to sin but learn to talk to God when you are stuck in one.
There will always be traffic jams as long as we live, and if we are truly tired of these traffic jams, I guess we need to stop living. But life has to go on and so will our affair with the traffic continue. There must be a way to overcome this because where there is a will there is a way. This letter has to stop here but life must go on.
