Traffic regulation on I-Day in Kohima

Kohima, August 13 (MExN): In view of the 70th Independence Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza in Kohima on August 15, the following traffic regulations will be enforced as part of the security arrangement on the day:   •    Only vehicles with appropriate car passes will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza.   •    No vehicle will be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6:00 am onwards on August 15 at the following routes – From BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; From Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; From Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.   •    Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during the Independence Day programme, except Government departmental buses.   •    Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6:00 am.   •    Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to be parked along the “D” Block road.   A press release from Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kohima cautioned that the Police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners.
