Traffic regulations for I-Day in Kohima

KOHIMA, AUGUST 13 (MExN): In view of the 76th Indian Independence Day Celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on August 15, the Kohima Police has enforced certain traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement. 

A press release from the Kohima Police informed that only vehicles with CAR PASS ‘Z’ (Red) and CAR PASS ‘Y’ (Blue) will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with CAR PASS ‘X’ (Green) will drop their respective officers at the Main Gate and shall be parked outside the Secretariat Complex. 

Vehicles without car passes will not be allowed to enter the Secretariat Complex and shall be parked along the Assembly Secretariat road. 

No vehicle including two wheelers will be allowed to park by the roadside from 6:00 am onwards on August 15 at the following routes till the programme is over:  New CM Official Residence, Phezoucha to New Secretariat Complex; from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till Classic Island; from Classic Island till New Secretariat Complex via Razhü Point, High school junction. 

Meanwhile, the police stated that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6:00 am.
