Traffic restrictions on Kohima–Jessami Road

PHEK, MAY 3 (MExN): The ongoing restriction on vehicular movement along a stretch of the Kohima–Jessami Road under Package-V has been extended as a safety precaution, the Deputy Commissioner Phek informed on Saturday.

According to the updated traffic advisory, movement of vehicles between Chainage 115+600 to 115+850—located between Losatephe and Lanezho villages—will remain strictly restricted from 7 AM to 7 PM for an additional 20 days, starting May 4 and continuing till May 23. The restriction is due to ongoing hill slope excavation works.

Commuters have been advised to use the alternate route via Pfutsero–Sakraba–Upper Khomi–Phek–Lanezho and vice versa during the restricted hours. The construction firm, KS-PIRPL (JV), has been instructed to complete the excavation within the stipulated timeline. The advisory has been issued for strict compliance in the interest of public safety.
