A training centre for differently abled persons in the Care and Support Society office, Mokokchung was inaugurated by Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly on October 8.

Delivering a speech as the special guest, Sharingain said that the imaginative power of a differently abled person is higher and better than a normal person and said that he and his family will help promote any art that will be created in or through the training centre.

The major goal of establishing the training centre is to assist the people with disabilities in discovering their talents and to provide them with various types of vocational training that would enable them to support themselves and thereby, empowering them and making society, an inclusive society for them informed one of the officials of C&SS.

Care and Support Society (C&SS) is a non-governmental organisation established in 1995, registered in the year 2001.

Currently, there are five programmes under C&SS, namely Mobile ICTC, Family Counselling Centre, Targeted Intervention (TI), Childline 1098 and Children Home. The Training centre for the differently abled persons will be the sixth programme initiated by C&SS. In the same programme, three PwD beneficiaries were given sewing machines which were donated by Sharingain Longkumer and Bonita Gurung.
