
Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): A training demonstration hall at STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, SASRD, NU, Medziphema was inaugurated by Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, MSME, Government of India, on October 8. The centre was established under the initiative of SN Pradhan, the then Joint Secretary, MDoNER, and Mercy Epao, the then Director, MDoNER.
According to a press release, Epao accentuated on the role of MSME, GoI and the different schemes under the ministry especially programmed to help the people to start up or scale up their business. She also encouraged everyone to access the facilities provided by the Ministry and avail the various possibilities to escalate their business ventures.
The programme was chaired by Prof Akali Sema, PI, STINER-TFC, while the welcome address was delivered by Prof L Daiho, Dean, SASRD, NU, and a brief remark was given by Prof M Alemienla Ao, Former PVC, SASRD, NU and Advisor to STINER-TFC.
A hands-on training programme on banana fibre extraction and its value addition was also conducted on occasion of the inaugural programme, where a number of 39 participants comprising house wives, SHGs, aspiring entrepreneurs and Experiential Learning Programme students from SASRD, NU took part.
Dr Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant, STINER-TFC conducted the training programme along with two Master trainers from the Centre, Vibito Savino and Mhasivikho Kuotso. The entire programme was aimed at unlocking the entrepreneurial mindset of the people and encouraging them to become one, the release stated.
