A two-day training on food processing & value addition for Self-Help Groups under Divisional Management Unit (DMU), Mokokchung is underway at Forest Complex, Marepkong, Mokokchung from August 22 to 23.
The programme is organized by the DMU, Mokokchung under NFMP, JICA Project in co-ordination with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung. A total of 27 SHGs from 9 villages namely Mongsenyimti, Mopungchuket, Changtongya New, Sungratsu, Longmisa, Chakpa, Yaongyimsen, Merangkong and Salulamang are participating in the programme.
The inaugural Programme was chaired by Akumtoshi, Team Leader (FNGO). Keynote address was given by Dr Sentitula, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Mokokchung followed by inaugural speech by Dr Keviletsu Khate, Senior Scientist & Head KVK, Mokokchung.
The technical session for the programme was chaired by Moaienla Longkumer, Technical Officer, KVK, Mokokchung. In the two-day training session, the topics were on preparation and Sterilization of Bamboo Shoot Pickle, Green Chilli Pickle, Squash & RTS, Jam (Pineapple & Papaya), Ginger Candy and Tapioca Chips.
