Dr. Aier highlighted that the key objective of the NP-NCD is to enhance the overall health status of the population through behaviour change. He emphasized the importance of creating awareness among the community, civil society organisations, and faith-based groups in combating non-communicable diseases.
The training covered components of the NP-NCD such as population-based and opportunistic screening, elderly care, management of common conditions, counselling, physiotherapy services, and health promotion using IEC tools to encourage behavioural change.
Participants included Medical Officers, GNMs, CHOs, ANMs, NCD Counselors, and staff from DPMU and BPMU across all blocks in the district. The resource persons provided intensive training on using the NCD Portal to ensure streamlined digital reporting and enhance data quality for effective programme implementation.
