Department of Land Resources, Kiphire and Nagaland Forest Management Project & DMU organised training on permaculture with Chubamongla Kichu, NCS, EAC Kiphire Hq as special guest on October 1.

Speaking at the programme the special guest said that impartial training on subject like permaculture in district like Kiphire is very encouraging and timely as the district is in need of it. In permaculture, there are no cons but only pros as it has lot of benefits for the people not only for economy but for health as well as for ecology, she stated.

The EAC Kiphire said there is potential for large scale production as well as market in permaculture and asked the participants to learn sincerely. She called upon the trainees to not only learn but apply and make it a movement for the district people to emulate.
She also distributed saloon to two PMKSY-WDC 2.O beneficiaries from Kiphire village.

While giving keynote address, Lipichem, DPO DoLR shared on the importance of permaculture and highlighted on the ethics and principal of permaculture. “We are what we eat and therefore, we need to take care of resources otherwise future generations will not be able to survive,” he stated. The officer also informed that the department has in-house resources person who are ready to held when need arises. 

Chupitho ACF cum Head ADMU, Kiphire welcomed the gathering and express gratitude to the participants having eagerness to learn from permaculture. Alben Awomi, Mahnir WDTM DoLR Kiphire led the technical session.
