
Jharnapani, July 22 (MExN): Three days ‘training programme on promotion of pig breeding through artificial insemination and scientific management techniques in Nagaland’ for rural educated unemployed youths was organized on July 20 to 22 by ICAR Nagaland Centre in collaboration with KVK Dimapur at ICAR Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani. A total of 30 rural educated unemployed youths from Mon, Wokha, Zunheboto, Kohima, Medziphema, Diphupar and Dimapur district attended the training. Joint Director of ICAR Nagaland Centre emphasized upon the pig production on commercial scale in Nagaland by adopting the advanced reproductive technology such as artificial insemination. Chief Guest, Dr. Viral Yore, Additional Director, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Kohima stressed upon adoption of scientific pig rearing to achieve the self sufficiency in pork production. He also distributed the three month old crossbred piglets to the participants.
