Transport dept informs on LMO tanker drivers

Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The Department of Transport has notified that the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) has been assigned the task of capacity building of 2,800 drivers for Liquefied Medical Oxygen (LMO) tankers. This is being done to streamline Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) distribution in the event of 3rd wave of COVID-19, the state DIPR informed on Tuesday. All concerned authorities have been directed to recognise the certificate issued by LSC with regard to carriage of hazardous material and LMO carriage and transportation, and endorsement in the driving license to drive a goods carriage vehicle carrying goods of dangerous or hazardous nature to human life under Rule 9 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, it added.
