Tribe Hohos hold discussion on Nagaland Municipal Act

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): A meeting of the Tribal Hohos of Nagas of Nagaland was held at the Angami Public Organisation (APO) Hall, Kohima on October 31. The Hohos had threadbare discussion on revocation of the resolution of Nagaland Legislative Assembly taken on November 24, 2016 pertaining to amendment of Nagaland Municipal Act.

A press note from the APO President and Sessional Chairman, Dr V Husa Seleyi; and CPO President, Kekhwengulo Lea informed that the Hohos resolved not to attend any consultative meeting called by the Government of Nagaland until the November 24, 2016 resolution is revoked by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

The house also resolved to appeal to the Government of India to invite the NSCN (K) to the negotiating table. The house meanwhile took note of the “frequent harassment of state government officials by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the midst of political talk between the GoI and the Naga National Political Groups.”

The press note further informed that the next meeting would be convened by the APO President in due consultation with the Tribal Hohos.
