Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): Tribal Hohos of Kohima have reacted to the opinions aired by Reverend Dr. VK Nuh, secretary general of the CNBC over the ongoing delimitation uproar in the state.
A note appended by executives and representatives of Lotha Hoho and Sangtam organizations, KPUK, ZUK, YTC, PUK, asserted that whether or not the reverend has backed the state government on the delimitation issue in his individual capacity or as the secretary general of the CNBC, should be made clear to the public.
“If he had done it as secretary general of CNBC, it is highly questionable and have to be rectified immediately by the CNBC so as to clarify and clear the name of the church, because he is not supposed to drag the good name of the CNBC in an issue which is purely a struggle for justice and equality from the government by the people who have been ignored and kept aside by the major tribes for a very long long time in the true spirit of Christianity it stated.
The representatives pointed out that the census of 2001 is an “accepted document for all official purposes in the state and also is already a yardstick and parameter for all purposes by the republic of India.” The note also queried the reverend “who manipulated the entire process of delimitation.”
The delimitation Act 2002 has become an Act where no court of law can challenge the commission and therefore it is “very unwise” of Rev Dr Nuh to “point fingers” at certain sections of the society “without knowing what happened at what point of time.” The note also asserted that the communities and districts of Wokha, Kiphire, Longleng, and Peren and Tseminyu sub-division have long been “stamped, walked over and appeals to the good Christian brothers were never heard and justice was literally denied and never ever gave a dime to the plight of the downtrodden.”
