Agartala, August 23 (PTI): The number of COVID-19 cases in Tripura rose to 8,720 on Sunday as 331 more people tested positive for the infection, while two fresh fatalities pushed the state''s coronavirus death toll to 72, a health official said.
The two patients died at the Agartala Government Medical College on Saturday, he said.
The fresh infections have pushed the number of active COVID-19 cases in the northeastern state to 2,448, while 6,182 people have recovered from the disease so far and 18 patients have migrated to other states, the official said.
The state has tested 2,41,104 samples for COVID-19 so far, he added.
