Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): On account of its earlier president’s ‘violation customary law,’ the GBs’ Federation of Tuensang has decided to instate office bearers “according to customary law” and not on educational qualification. This is among several resolutions adopted during the federation’s meeting on May2 “because of Shri. Vikuto, the president who has violated the traditional customary law.” A note appended by its president Beso Chang and other GBs, stated that the Tuensang chapter had been actively supporting the Nagaland GBs’ Union under its president KL Angami. However, the Tuensang GBs’ are currently in dilemma regarding grants and aid assured by the state government, it explained. The federation explained that till date no such grants have been received by the Tuensang federation during the incumbency of Vikuto Zimo. The meeting strongly objected to the election of Zimo’s for a second term. Unless this process is rectified, the Tuensang federation will be compelled to stick to “NEFA customary law” in regard to election/selection of GBs’ presidents, it stated. On this, the Tuensang federation resolved to instate GBs of the union “only according to customary law” and not on educational qualification.
