Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): The Tsiepama Youth Organization conducted its 23rd annual sports meet at the Tsiepama local ground on January 2.
Volleyball and football matches were played amongst Dream Team, United Friends Club, Wolf FC, Astute Brothers, Unity Club, TYO model village.
In the final football match, Astute Brothers and United Friends Club played a goalless draw during the stipulated time. However, Keneisakho Mera struck the winning goal in extra time for Astute Brothers to seal the victory. He was also awarded the man of the match for the final match.
Meanwhile, in men's volleyball final, United Friends Club 'A' emerged as the champions and Wolf Club 'B' were the runner's up. For women's volleyball, Thenupfüko 'A' beat TYO model village to take the title.
The closing ceremony was graced by Vilelheto Khro, FWA, Kuhuboto, Dimapur as guest of honour. In his speech, he reminded the sportspersons that games and sports are not only about talent but also about respect for each other.
He thanked the TYO for providing the opportunity for the youth to expose their talent while also gratitude towards the organising team for taking the courage to host this tournament and bringing the youth together after such a long break owing to the pandemic.
The closing ceremony progam was presided over by Neiketoulie Geisuo, TYO President. Invocation was pronounced by Ropfüvisie Nakhro TCRC Secretary while vote of thanks presented by Neithovilie Chalieu, President, Dream team (organizing team).
