Dimapur, January 11 (MExN): The Tsithrongse Village inaugurated its newly constructed council hall on January 11. This project involved collaborative efforts of SBI Gram Seva Programme Dimapur and ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco Dimapur, as the implementing NGO partner.

An update received here stated that construction of the council hall commenced in June 2023 and was completed after 1 year and 7 months. The newly inaugurated facility includes a spacious council hall on the top floor, offices for various village organizations, and guest rooms on the ground floor, addressing the long-standing need for a dedicated space for governance and community activities.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by H Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA and Advisor to the Department of Tribal Affairs and Election, Government of Nagaland, as the chief guest. In his address, H Tovihoto Ayemi commended the leadership of the Tsithrongse Village Council, particularly the chairman and Head GB, for their dedication and responsibility in completing the project.

Ayemi extended his gratitude to Pastor Lemdiba of Tsithrongse Baptist Church for invoking blessings on the occasion and to Rev Fr Dr Roy George SDB, Executive Director of AIDA Don Bosco Dimapur, for dedicating the hall under the guidance of Jesus Christ. He also acknowledged the pivotal role of SBI Foundation Mumbai in financially supporting the project and their ongoing contributions toward rural development.

Speaking at the event, Rev Fr Dr Roy George SDB highlighted the support and active involvement of SBI Foundation Mumbai in making the community’s vision a reality. He emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable development.

The event concluded with Thrilongse, Village Development Board (VDB) Secretary, delivering a vote of thanks.
