TSUD seminar dwells on ‘building roots’

Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) organised two-day seminar under the theme ‘building on roots’ at Nagaland Land Resources Centre, Rüzaphema on February 24 and 25. 

A press release stated there that on the first day, Rothihu Tetseo, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur exhorting the students said, “Tenyimi's are a group of people formed by virtue which was passed down by the same ancestors and not by any political ideology to separate from any tribes or the Nagas at large.” He added that one should know their cultural identity.

The guest speaker, Prof D Koulie, Secretary General Ura Academy lengthily deliberated on the origin of Tenyimi and Tenyidie dialect, its importance and its wide progress in academic field.

On day two, the guest speaker, Neichute Doulo, CEO, Entrepreneur Associates spoke on the topic, “business and entrepreneurship.” He clarified that he is not a business man but a social entrepreneur. He stated that only 12.5% of the Naga population is a Government employee and the rest are all a small private job holder, contractor, self-employed and unemployed. 

Also speaking on ‘how do I make Rs 5 Lakh per annum?’ he confidently stated that Nagaland has a wide fertile land which can make huge money by starting with mini farming. He gave different ideas with examples of best ways of making money through local production. Doulo encouraged all the students to erase the mindset of holding only the government jobs but to also join policeman, entrepreneurship, etc.
