Tsuknungakum Jamir today emerged with the coveted ‘Strongest Man’ title at the 1st Hornbill International Strongest & Fittest Man Competition held under the aegis of Zumu Gym Kohima and sponsored by Tourism Department.
Vizobeilie Punyu stood runner-up in the competition which is being organised as part of the Hornbill Festival. The winner and runner-up pocketed Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.
Strongest man competitors went through a series of events like Squat Lift (150 kg), Farmers Walk (60 kgs each), Power Stairs (50 to 60 kgs), Loading race (25 and 50 kg) and Dead Lift (180 kg).
Vizobeilie Punyu also claimed the Fittest Man title and pocketed cash prize of Rs.40,000.
Runner-up Kutho Nyekha was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 20,000.
Meanwhile, Hepuni Kajiikho was declared as Mr Hornbill 2017-18 and awarded with Rs. 5000. The competitors for fittest man event went through Snatch, Clean & Jerk, Burpee, One Leg Squat, Dead Lift, Push Up, Free Squat and Climbing Snail.
