Zunheboto, February 4 (MExN): The volleyball trophy organized by Tsukoto Range GBs Sports Association at Koiboto village was inaugurated by Advisor for Tourism, Art and Culture H Khehovi Yeputhomi on February 2.
A press release issued by the PS to the advisor stated that while delivering his inaugural speech, Khehovi encouraged the volleyball players that their participation today at the village level tourneys should eventually take themselves to higher platforms where they can showcase their talent for further recognition in the state to national levels and to international platforms as well.
The Advisor said Nagas are naturally gifted with sportsmanship ability that can represent Nagas in bigger platforms if rightfully explored and trained. Unfortunately, many budding Nagas in sports vanishes in the halfway to glory because they lack consistency, dedication and discipline in pursuing their cherished target.
He said Nagas may not have all the required sport facilities or the Government may not be mounding them as expected but to be on top of the peak, one has to climb the cliff by encountering all the hardships and challenges he added.
Khehovi also stated that youngsters should look forward to bringing good relationships with the neighboring villages through their active participants in such tournaments. He called upon the players to always discipline themselves and pursue their dreams with diligence to see the accomplishment of their ability in sports.
