Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): Trinity Theological College (TTC), Dimapur, held its 28th Graduation Ceremony on April 13 at the Rev. Dr. Kavito Zhimo Hall, conferring degrees on 116 students, including 7 Master of Theology (M.Th) and 109 Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) graduates.

The event was graced by Prof. Rev. Dr. Akheto Sema, General Secretary of the Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India (CBCNEI), who delivered the graduation address. In his message, Dr. Sema encouraged the graduates to move beyond academic qualifications and apply their learning with commitment and sacrifice in service to God and humanity.

“Tomorrow belongs to the Lord,” he said, urging the graduates to take two essential steps: first, to acknowledge their acquired aptitude, talent, and the support received from family, church, and society; and second, to actively live out their calling by following the way of the cross.

Dr. Sema emphasized that ministry is not “a bed of roses” and challenged the graduates to live out their faith practically. “With the cross, you are qualified as long as God qualifies you,” he said, calling on them to embrace humility, obedience, and courage, and to be ready like Isaiah to say, “Here I am, send me.”

He added that God uses people through ordinary ways, and encouraged the graduates to surrender their personal plans to God's direction. “Allowing God to have His way in our lives is the best choice we can make,” he said.

The ceremony began with a call to worship and invocation by Dr. Vikato Achumi. Rev. Dr. Hukato Shohe, Principal of TTC, delivered the welcome address. Dr. L. Chumchano Ovung led the intercessory prayer, and Dr. Shelly Swu, Academic Dean, announced the proficiency awards. Representing the graduating class, E. Buviene (M.Th) and Ghukali V. Yeptho (B.D) shared reflections on their theological journey.

Scripture readings were conducted by Hukheli Sema and Dr. Wungtei Buchem. The diplomas were conferred by the Principal, the Academic Dean, and Dr. Imsu Longchar, Dean of Higher Studies. Rev. Dr. Khehovi Shohe, Director of the School of Biblical Counselling (SBC), led the commissioning and dedication of the graduands. The service concluded with a benediction by Dr. James Inaho Swu and a solemn recessional.
