TTC President told to furnish proof on NNC involvement

DIMAPUR, JAN 12 (MExN): President of the Tikhir Tribal Council, Khiapong, has been cautioned to come clean on his allegations involving the NNC (FGN) in the Tikhir-Yimchungrü flare-up.  “The several press statements of Mr Khiapong, President, Tikhir Sub-dialect group of Yimchungrü wherein the allegation was meted out to the members of both NSCNs and FGNs of Yimchungrü Region concerning the involvement in the cause of the attack of Kiusam Town besides fuming up the situation at Shamator village, was quite detestable and shocking which ignited the attention of the NNC (FGN) of Yimchungrü Region to give the authentic clarification,” R Muzhi, Madam Peyu of the NNC (FGN), Yimchungrü Region said in a release today.

Mentioning that each individual of Nagaland is a son or daughter of NNC (FGN), Muzhi said their foremost moral responsibility is to safeguard the interest of the public in both letter and in spirit. “As such, playing a partisan role, firing a gun, killing, bombarding or creating commotion in civilian areas is not in our Manifesto.”

Khiapong has been advised to be careful with his words before “rushing to the press with malicious intention lest it should defame the hard-earned reputations of NNC (FGN).”

He has been told to furnish the proof and evidence of the involvement of the NNC (FGN) with immediate effect, in support of his previous allegations.

Khiapong has also been told to tender an apology to the NNC (FGN) of Yimchungrü Region in the media “for his false statements failing which he should face the consequences.”
