Tuensang concludes Poshan Pakhwada

The closing ceremony of the 2022 Poshan Pakhwada (Nutrition Fortnight) was organised at the Jubilee Memorial Hall, CBLT, Tuensang, in collaboration with Sangsangnyu ICDS Project on April 4.

On the occasion, Tuensang Extra Assistant Commissioner Arhonbeni Ezung addressed the gathering as special guest.

Stating that “Today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens,” Ezung said that this scheme is “one of the best initiatives of the Government of India because this started focusing mainly on children and women.” 

She also stated that children should be nurtured as today because they are the future. Their health, cognitive abilities, physical and mental health depend on the mothers and because of that this scheme has given more importance on the mother and the child, she maintained.

She also congratulated and thanked the department for conducting all the activities throughout the celebration of Poshan Pakhwada which are all inter-connected. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by John, Block Coordinator, Sangsangnyu Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Project while invocation was spoken by Sangtila, Associate Pastor, Christina Education Ministry, Ao Baptist Church, Tuensang.

Welcome speech was delivered by Moa Longkumer, District Welfare Officer, Tuensang followed by prize distribution for winners and participants of online cooking competition.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Thungpang, District Coordinator, Poshan.
