Tuensang DPDB clears agenda for October

Tuensang, October 12(MExN): The Tuensang District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) met on October 11, and deliberated on various issues in the district. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Board Vice-Chairperson Kumar Ramnikant.

Some of the subjects taken up during the meeting included the repair of Dikhu Bridge located along the Tuensang and Mokokchung road. According to a DIPR update, Executive Engineer, National Highways apprised the members that 50 percent of the work has been completed.

Without going into details, the DIPR stated that he also updated members on the outcome of the PWD (NH) and NHIDCL meeting regarding ‘the zero point to 95 Kms toward Tuensang.’ He also informed about ‘the missing bolts and nuts of the bridges between Tuensang to Mokukchung for which an FIR has been filed at Police Station Longkhim,’ it said.

Along with this, the office of the Chief Medical Officer spoke on the Nikshey Mitra programme which aims to put an end to Tuberculosis in India. Emphasizing the need for community support in eradicating TB, the CMO’s office urged the board members to come forward in assisting the 181 existing TB patients in the district. 

DC Ramnikant encouraged the district Head of Departments to impart departmental practical education to the school students and asked them to report on the programmes initiated by the departments in the schools at every DPDB Meeting.

He also informed all the Heads of Offices to get ready with the employment list and list of departmental vehicles for election purposes.   

Meanwhile, the DC also invited the board members to the launching programme of the Chief Ministers Health Insurance Schemes which will be held at the DC Office. The members were also informed about the forthcoming interdepartmental sports week which will be held from October 22 onwards.
