Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has informed of its resolution to wait for 5 days for the Cabinet to ‘deliberate and take action’ on the Judiciary Inquiry Committee (JIC) report on the May 26 Tuensang fiasco.
The resolution was reportedly taken during a joint consultative meeting with six tribal bodies, frontal organizations and advisors on June 23.
Subsequently, an ENPO press release received on June 24 cited a letter from the state government dated June 6, 2020, where it stated that “on receipt of the finding/recommendations of the JIC, the Cabinet will promptly deliberate the matter and initiate action in the shortest possible time.”
As such, the ENPO said that the joint consultative meeting had ‘unanimously resolved’ to “wait for 5 days (w.e.f the date of adoption of this resolution) for the Cabinet to deliberate and take action” on the JIC report.
