Tuensang Social Welfare dept bids farewell to outgoing officers

Department of Social Welfare, Tuensang organised a farewell programme for Chotsase Sangtam, District Programme Officer (DPO) and Tinuwati Sangtam, District Welfare Officer (DWO) at CBLT hall in Tuensang on July 30.

In his speech, Chotsase Sangtam stated that he is retiring after 35 years of service and he thanked God for good life.

Leaving words of encouragement to the present staffs, he encouraged them to think that they all are working in the best and the luckiest department of all. “We work to uplift people and support them as we help pregnant mothers, young adults, widows and old age under our different programmes. I feel that we are also like Christian missionaries. Work to serve people and eventually God’s blessing will shower upon you,” he expressed.

Tinuwati Sangtam could not make it to the programme due to health issue. However, several other staffs from different ranks were present and expressed their joy and sadness over their retirement.

On behalf of the District Administration, Tuensang Ketsinle Tep, EAC thanked for their contribution, cooperation to the district administration and line departments especially during the pandemic lockdown and wished them best for their future endeavour.

Tsalito CDPO, Longkhim said that both were innovative and pioneers in various activities of the department. Tangsoi, Senior Supervisor, Chessore said, “Although you are retiring from the department but we will always refer for your help as you have been like an encyclopaedia for our department.”

On behalf of the DPO staff, Thungpang honoured the retiring officers “as one of the most beloved and respected officers was retiring who had been like a father figure, brother, guide and mentor to all.” “There is a time for work and rest and today they deserve this good rest,” he added.

A moment of silence was observed for the departed members of the department and a special song was also presented by Anganwadi workers and helpers. The presentations of the outgoing officers were done by Andikundang, CDPO Noksen while the programme was chaired by Imsu, Senior Supervisor. Invocation and benediction prayers were spoken by T Among, Pastor MCBC and Haku Chang, Finance & Property Secretary, CBLT.
