Tuensang, May 20 (MExN): Pathso Nokeng has witnessed an exemplary display of environmental responsibility as a group of young individuals took it upon themselves to clear and pick up plastic wastes from various locations in the village.

In the process, they picked up at least half a dozen sacks of non-degradable plastic wastes on Saturday, when they are off from classes. They are mostly primary school goers, led by Khumong K, who has just returned to village as he awaits his HSSLC result, an update provided by Tangniu, a student leader of Pathso Nokeng village stated.

Their voluntary initiatives have not only made a significant impact on the cleanliness of the surroundings but have also set an inspiring example for the entire community. By taking matters into their own hands, they are demonstrating that age is no barrier to making a positive impact. The impact of their work goes far beyond the physical act of clearing wastes but showcases their maturity, sense of belongingness and commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier world, the update stated.

Meanwhile, the Pathso Nokeng Students’ Union (PNSU) has extended appreciation and conveyed that their efforts have not gone unnoticed. “They are the champions of a sustainable future, and such commitment to preserving our planet deserves recognition. Their actions inspire us all to be conscientious stewards of our environment and to work collectively towards a brighter and greener future,” PNSU added.
