Zunheboto, September 22 (MExN): With special focus on traditional agriculture, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in collaboration with Tizü Valley Biodiversity Conservation and Livelihood Network (TVBCLN), Zunheboto organised a one-day 1st Farmer’s Market Meet 2021 at Zunheboto Town Hall on September 22.

Speaking at the event,  special guest and the Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo lauded the event organisers for successfully materialising their project and also holding such an event at the district.

The potential for rich agriculture farming and organic products were always seen but after seeing the huge stocks of organic products and also keen participation from the farmers, it is now clear that the vision of self-sustainable Agri farming is definitely achievable, he added.  As per a DIPR report, DC Lichamo expressed gratitude to the farmers for making themselves available with abundant products and encouraged them to continue with the traditional agriculture farming.

While delivering the keynote address, Sidharth, a TERI Fellow, elaborated that the vision of the project was to focus on traditional agriculture farming and to provide a platform to the farmers. The programme was chaired by Ivan Jimomi, Team Leader TVBCLN.
